Howard Cruse is a gay draftsman of cartoon, born on May 2nd, 1944 in Alabama, the United States.
Biography
Wire of a preacher of Springville (Alabama), it started to publish drawings whereas it was with the college. Teenager, it met Milton Caniff, but Mad constituted its major influence. it entered to the University of Pennsylvania then worked for the Télévision. It left for New York in 1977, where it mixed in the middle of the cartoon underground. It met there in 1979 his current companion, Eddie Sedarman.Cruse created initially Barefootz , a series of strips nonsensic which it continued of 1971 to 1980, around a boy always barefeet. Militant, it took the direction of the review Gay Comix in 1980. In 1983, he invented for the gay magazine The Advocate the series Wendel . Wendel Trupstock is a young attaching gay, who one sees evolving/moving within the community. Cruse freely tackled the subjects of the Homophobie and the AIDS, S/M or the Amour, quite simply, between Wendel and its companion Ollie Chalmers.
