Hovedstaden (area)

The area Hovedstaden (in French, “area of the Capital”) is one of the 5 Régions of Denmark.

Created on January 1st 2007, it gathers old the amter of Copenhagen and of Frederiksborg, the communes of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg as well as the regional commune of Bornholm. The area will be managed with Hillerød. Population at January 1st, 2007: 1.636.749 inhabitants.
