Houx (Eure-et-Loir)
Houx is a common French, located in the department of Eure-et-Loir and the area Center.
Geography
The agglomeration of Houx is extended on approximately 1 km in the valley of the Voise. Fields occupy the high part of the commune. The valley is the seat of an important poplar plantation.
History
The commune was called “Hous” in 1235, “Hussum” in 1247. The name undoubtedly comes from an extent of thorny Houx.
