House of the People (Brussels)
The House of the People (in Dutch: Volkshuis ) is a building of style Art nouveau builds with Brussels by Victor Horta, of 1896 with 1898 for the Parti working Belgian, who wanted to have a vast meeting place with the center of the city. It was destroyed in 1965 in spite of sharp international protests, as shows it for example a motion voted unanimously with the international Congrès of the architects, joined together with Venice in 1964.
Jean Delhaye tries to defend work; certain stained glasses and elements of ironwork were saved and decorate from now on the subway station “Horta”, but the irons profiled stolen in 1983 and will be sold with the price of metal.
