House of freedoms
The Maison of freedoms (in Italian, Put it delle libertà , shortened sometimes in CdL) is an electoral alliance right Italy of which joins together the parties and political movements which supported the government of Silvio Berlusconi. It takes the succession of the " Pole of freedoms " ( Sports shirt delle libertà ), created in 1994. It includes/understands:
- Forza Italia , a political movement founded by Silvio Berlusconi in 1994 (at the time of its descent );
- National alliance, an old political party of right-hand side having made a center turn;
- Union of the Christian democrats (UDC), of the Christian-Democrat S of right-hand side;
- League of North, a party based in North, defending the interests of the Padanie;
- a part become minority in 2005 of the New Italian Socialist party, regarded as renegade Socialists (non-members of the European Socialist party);
- the Christian Democrat for autonomies, allied with NPSI
- Italian Republican party, of the laic republicans who at the time of a congress cancelled by Italian Justice decided to support CdL;
- Italian Liberal party, reconstitution of the movement founded with the release by Benedetto Croce.
- the Mezzogiorno europeo, (European Midday) a politico-cultural, adherent movement with Europa Mediterranea, which defends a policy who affirms the primacy of the Mediterranean in Europe so that is recognized a political role and an economic model compatible with the history and the tradition of this sea. This movement is represented at the Parliament by the senator Salvatore Lauro and by the deputies Sergio Iannuccilli, Antonio Oricchio and Paolo Russo.
The first six parties are represented within the Gouvernement Silvio Berlusconi III.
This alliance, under the name of Pole of freedoms ( Sports shirt delle libertà ), gained the elections of 1994 (just after the descent of its leader) but the Gouvernement Silvio Berlusconi I only lasted relatively little time (8 months) when the Ligue of North separated and joined from it the opposition. It was demolished with the elections of 1996. By sparing the League of North, Silvio Berlusconi ends up gaining the following elections, in 2001. She sought to circumvent the rules of the Proportionnelle mixed Italian electoral system by presenting several of these candidates in the districts under a baptized factitious list Abolizione Scorporo , a name which clearly marked its opposition to the rules of the Way of voting. She succeeds partially while not making provide all the 630 seats with deputies (only 619 were provided in fine because of multiple candidatures, cf Camera dei deputati), but obtained a clear majority in the two rooms of the Parliament. The House of freedoms clearly lost all the bys-election or regional since 2003, by in particular losing April 3rd and 4th 2005, six areas Italian which it controlled (it does not control any more that three principal areas, the Lombardy, the Venezia and the Sicily in addition to small the Molise gained in 2001, at the time of a rejouée election). It lost (accuracy, less than 25.000 votes), the legislative elections of the April 9th and 10th 2006, in particular because of the vote of the Italians abroad and the change of the electoral law, decided by the aforementioned coalition right before these elections.
Silvio Berlusconi announced at the Italian Parliament the April 27th 2005, its intention to transform this coalition into a sole party which could be called the Party of Freedom (or Party of Moderate) to date announces often reiterated but not followed effect (April 2006).
