House of Bourbon

The house of Bourbon is the family which directed the seigniory of Bourbon-the Archambault until this last master key by marriage with the Maison of Dampierre (v. 1227) then to the Maison of France (in 1287 with the branch of Burgundy, then in 1310 with the branch of Clermont, connects which will take again the name of Bourbon consequently, until its accession with the throne of Navarre in 1555).
name house of Bourbon was then taken again to qualify the Maison of very whole France, officially since June 29th, 1768, date of death of Helene de Courtenay (1689-1768), with which died out the Branche of Courtenay, extinction which made connects resulting from the dukes of Bourbon the only remaining branch of the house of France.
