House of Bay - Relay of Courtils
the House of Bay - Relay of Courtils , is a center of interpretation which presents the birth of the Baie of the Mount Saint-Michel: its formation during the millenia and its progressive stranding. It thus makes it possible to include current work intended to preserve the insularity of the Mont Saint-Michel.

the House of Bay - Relay of Courtils is equipment of the departmental Réseau of the sites and museums of the English Channel set up and managed by the General advice.
Since the beginning of the Nineties, the General advice of the English Channel carries out a step of town and country planning of the Baie of the Mount Saint-Michel through a policy of patrimonial safeguarding and tourist valorization. It acts thus, within the framework of a " Operation Large Site" supplemented of a " Integrated management of the Côtière" Zone; ranges by an association interdépartementale Handle - Ille-et-Vilaine to ensure the protection of the landscapes and natural environments of the Bay of the Mount Saint-Michel to support a durable tourist development of the territory.
An example of this development policy is the concept of “House of Bay”. The first house of site was that of Genêts in 1989, the second opens its doors with Courtils in 1995, and the third with Vains in 2001. A coherence and a complementarity between these installations are the discussion thread of this concept. Each relay approaches a particular set of themes of Bay, in museographic form.

The House of Bay - Relay of Courtils is devoted to “the birth of Bay” and recalls the history of the formation of the Baie of the Mount Saint-Michel and its evolution, since its Genèse until its actual position.
Space museographic, thanks to models, films, and synthesized images supplementing the comment of an audio guides, also makes it possible to include current work aiming at preserving the maritime character of the Mount Saint-Michel.
