Hourtin
Hourtin is a common French, located in the department of the the Gironde and the area Aquitaine.
Geography
Hourtin, located in the Moors of the Medoc, the largest division with Yokes natural Lake of fresh water of France, the Lake Hourtin and Yokes, on which in the years 1980 the tourist complex of Hourtin-Port within the framework of the installation of the Aquitaine coast was built. Small the Seaside resort of Hourtin-Beach is located at 12 km of the village at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. The commune of Hourtin gathers several Hameau X: the borough of Hourtin, Hourtin beach, Contaut, Piqueyrot and Lachanau.
History
The hamlet of Lachanau was constituted in a particular way; indeed, on decision of the municipal council in 1956, 12 families of Bordeaux were authorized to rent grounds of a surface of 150 m2 and to build precarious and dismountable constructions. The beams were terminable every year.
It is only in 1989 that the Mairie decided the setting on sale pieces with the tenants.

Hourtin divides with Carcans largest Lac of fresh water of France, the Lac of Hourtin and Yokes, on which the tourist complex of Hourtin-Port is built. The balneal small station of Hourtin-Beach on the Atlantic Ocean is located at 12 km of the village.
