Houria Aïchi is a Algerian Chanteuse chaouie born with Batna in the Aurès.

Biography

Born in Aurès, it leaves to study in Paris in the Années 1970. She teaches the Sociologie when she starts to occur on scene in 1985 to interpret traditional songs of her childhood (Berceuse S, love songs,…), accompanied by traditional instruments (Gasbâ, Bendir).

She records two albums in this vein. She also takes part in the music of the film the in the Sahara of Bernardo Bertolucci (1990).

Its third album, Khalwa (the mystical retirement), realized with the collaboration of Henri Agnel, is devoted to the hymns of Algeria, including/understanding Dhikr S Soufi S.
