Houdeng-Aimeries
Houdeng-Aimeries is a section of the Belgian city of Louvière, located in Wallonia in the Province of Hainaut.
It was a common to whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Etymology
The name of Houdeng-Aimeries finds its origin in the Latin word hosdinium meaning hotel or house . For others, it would be rather about Romance name hos meaning houx ; eng, ang, aing, being extensions of have, have, finale of many words indicating the gathering , the grouping (place where the houx pushed in abundance). The origin of the second part of the name as for it is proven since it is about the name of a field pertaining to the Rollin , lords of Aimeries (Northern of France).
