Hot Lips Page
Hot Lips Page (Oran Thadeus Page) is a Trompettiste and Chanteur of American Jazz , born the July 27th 1908 with Dallas (Texas) and deceased the November 4th 1954 with New York.
Even if it sometimes occurred in contexts Dixieland, Hots Lips Page is especially a représentaif musician of the Middle jazz and “the era of the swing”.
Biography
Hot lips Page begins its career in Texas in the Twenties by accompanying the singer by Blues My Rainey.It settles with Kansas City where it plays in the “Walter Page 'S Blue Devils” (1928-1931) then the orchestra of Benny Moten (1932). It is a time musician “free lance” in this city. It joined, for a rather short period, “Reno Club Orchestrated” Count Basie.
On the councils of its agent OJ Glaser, it is installed then with New York. There, it directs a time its clean Big band (1938-1940), plays in the orchestra of Artie Shaw (1941-1942). It carries out then a career of musician “free lance” occurring in clubs or concerts and, especially, participant in many recordings.
