Hot Line

The hot line indicates a line of direct communication established the August 30th 1963 between the the United States and the Soviet Union after the Crise of the missiles carried out the world at the edge of the World war in 1962. This denomination is a lexical short cut taken again and popularized by the media, the line being makes of it a line of fax, its supposed red color symbolizing the fact simply that it was about an emergency line. This hot line connecting the White House to the the Kremlin made it possible, thereafter, to defuse conflict situations putting at the catches the Eastern bloc and the Western block. November 5th, 2007 China and the United States decided the announced installation of a hot line, at the time of the visit in China of the secretary to Defense Robert Spoil.

Safety of the communications

One thinks that the line was quantified thanks to the principle of the disposable Masque, with keys transported by Diplomatic bag. The key was changed with each communication and was destroyed when this one was finished. This information was never confirmed but the use of the disposable mask is very probable for several reasons.

It is the only coding which is theoretically inviolable (if several conditions are observed) and the diplomatic bags were a practical solution for a protected exchange of the keys Aléatoire S.
