Hostilina

In the Roman Mythology, Hostilina (of Latin hostire , “to level”) was an agrarian goddess attached to Cérès) responsible for the good formation of ear at the time of the épiaison of the Blé.

One knows this goddess in the writings of Saint Augustin, when it enumerates the agricultural divinities referred by Varron which it finds futile ( the City of God , L.IV). It is to be brought closer to the divinities devoted to the formation of corn ear to avoid: Patélana, Nodutus, Volutina, Flora, Lacturnus and Matuta.
