Nobuhiro Watsuki (), born the May 26th 1970 in the Prefecture of Niigata, is a draftsman of Manga.

Biography

Whereas it is still at the elementary school, it already impassions for the drawing thanks to his 3 year old brother his elder. It is invested more seriously in the drawing at the time of its entry to the college. It also practices in parallel the Kendo what gives him taste with martial arts.

It gains in 1987 the Hop Step Award , a contest organized by the magazine Shonen Jump, with the manga Podomark (a history of robot).

He works until 1993 with the mangaka Takeshi Obata ( Hikaru No Go ) as an assistant on the manga Arabian lamp lamp (Rampou in francophonie) and Chikarabito (history on the Sumo). He devotes himself then to the development of his clean mangas and starts in 1994 his major work, Rurouni Kenshin ( Kenshin the Vagrant in francophonie) which is prépublié in Shonen Jump.

Its principal influences are Minako Nanita ( Alien street ), Fujiko Fujio ( Doraemon ), Mitsuru Adachi ( Touch ), Masakazu Katsura ( Wingman ), Osamu Tezuka ( Black Jack ) but also the American Comics ( X-men ).

Some of its former assistants are now famous mangaka like Eiichirō Oda ( One Piece ) or Hiroyuki Takei ( Shaman king ).

It was also Character designer for the account of SNK in the series of the Samurai Spirits (what explains the resemblance striking between Shizumaru of Samurai Spritis III and Kenshin).
