Hospital of the nounours

The Hôpital of Nounours is a project on the initiative of the German medical students. It was imported in France by IFMSA (International federation of National associations of Medical students). Students of the worlds medical and ancillary medical propose with children of maternal to come to make look after to them nounours.

HdN was held for the first time in France in 2004 in 6 cities (Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, the Kremlin-Bicêtre, Nantes, Nice and Poitiers)… This action was a real success, therefore it was continued in 2005 by more than 25 faculties… In 2007, the whole of the Hospitals of Nounours (39 medical colleges) will accommodate nearly 8.500 children.

Since December 2006, the project received the official support of the Minister of education Main road; and since February 2007, the UNICEF sponsors the operation.

The main aim of the project is to improve the relation doctor-patient by creation of “the hospital of the nounours”, where future health professionals will meet (medical students and pharmacy, pupils male nurses, wise women…) and young children.

In this ludic universe, the older children from 3 to 6 years make examine their cuddly toy by above mentioned the students known as “nounoursologists”. They will be able to thus follow a consultation in its totality, of the reception to pharmacy, without being themselves patient.
