Hormonothérapie

In Medicine, the hormonothérapie is a medicamentous treatment containing different hormones among which the growth hormones and the sex hormones, the thyroid hormones and well of others endogenous molecules.

The hormonothérapie is used in many cases:

  • Treatment of the problems involved in the Menopause
  • Treatment of the Syndrome of Klinefelter
  • Treatment of the Syndrome of Turner
  • Treatment for the change of sex
  • Treatment with growth hormones for stage their lack at certain people
  • Treatment with thyroid hormones against the Hypothyroïdie
  • Substitution therapy of the Calcitonine following a Parathyroïdectomie
  • Substitution therapy of the Testosterone for the men having a low level of this one because of diseases or of ageing.

The contraceptive Pilule is a form of hormonothérapie.

Anti-hormonal treatments are also used.
