Horizontal

Horizontal is an orientation in relation to, or in parallel with the horizon, and the perpendicular of Vertical. An horizontal line goes from right to left (or vice versa).

In coordinated Cartesian of the form ( X , there ), the horizontal axis is conventionally used for the coordinates X , with the positive numbers of the right-sided of the vertical axis. The equation there = C , where C a constant, represents an horizontal line. In a Complex number the horizontal axis is used for the real component.

In a drawing in prospect, a whole of horizontal parallel lines which are not parallel with the horizon go, if wide, to meet at only one point at the horizon known as the Break point. It is a common characteristic of the images of the straight lines or ways of railroad.
