Horacio Elizondo
Horacio Marcelo Elizondo (born the November 4th 1963) is a Argentinian referee international of Football.
Biography
After studies of physical education, he is engaged like referee by the Fédération of Argentina of football at the beginning of the Années 1990. It referee its first match of the first Argentinian division at the time of the match opposing the Deportivo Español to the Atletico Belgrano in 1992.
It receives its qualification of international referee in 1994 and referee for the first time as such at the time of the match Ecuador - Colombia (October 9th 1994) cash for the qualifications with the Mondial 1998.
It takes part then (inter alia) in two Copa America (1997 and 1999), with the World cup of the clubs of 2000 (at the time of which it will deliver a red paperboard with David Beckham at the time of Manchester - Club Necaxa), to the World cup of less than 20 years of 2003 and 2005 and to the Olympic Games of Athens 2004.
It is indicated by the Argentinian federation to be its representative in the arbitration body of the World cup 2006 with its assistants Darío García and Rodolfo Otero.
It arbitrated there finally five matches (Germany - Costa Rica, match of opening, Czech Republic - Ghana, Suisse - South Korea, England - Portugal and the final, Italy - France). The fact of arbitrating at the same time the match of opening and the final of this competition, during which it exlut Zinedine Zidane, which is a first in the history, is of course a dedication for him. It is him which, after the world cup, denies to have used it video, neither him nor its assistants, at the time of the finale.
The 10 May 2007, it is named by the chief of the Argentinian government of Nestor Kirchner under-secretary of State to the sporting businesses.
