Hoogeloon, Hapert in Casteren

Old commune of the Netherlands, of the province of the Brabant-Septentrional , the commune of Hoogeloon, Hapert in Casteren was independent until January 1st 1997, date of its fusion with the old commune of Bladel in Netersel. The new commune thus created is called Bladel, of the name of its chief town.

The commune was made up of the villages of Casteren, Hapert and Hoogeloon and several hamlets, whose principal ones are Dalem and Hoogcasteren. In 1840, the commune counted 259 houses and 1.398 inhabitants, including 459 in Hoogeloon, 167 in Hoogcasteren, 347 in Hapert, 152 in Dalem and 273 in Casteren.
