Honore d\' Estienne d\' Orves
Honore d' Estienne d' Orves (June 6th 1901 with Glass-the-Bush - August 29th 1941 with Suresnes) is a Naval officer French, hero of the Second world war, and famous first martyr of Resistance.

Will to continue the combat
Left the Polytechnic school in 1923, it integrates the Naval college. Royalist " of naissance" , it is a time admiror of Charles Maurras and reader of the French Action . In December 1939, he is aide-de-camp on board the Duquesne, in the Force “ X ”, of the Admiral Godfroy. At the time of the armistice of June 1940, this one is blocked in Alexandria and of Estiennes d' Orves is not satisfied forced inaction where it is reduced. It initially tries to join in July 1940 the general Legentilhomme, commander higher of the troops of the French Côte of Somalis, which had announced its intention to push back the armistice. The colony being finally rejoined with the Vichy government, of Estiennes d' Orves decides in August 1940 to join England. It reaches that point at the end of September after a long tour around Africa. It is affected at the 2nd office of the free French Naval forces.At the end of December 1940, it crosses the English Channel on board a fishing vessel and unloads with Plogoff in company of a radio operator telegraphist, Georges Marty. Installed with the Chantenay-on-Loire close to Nantes it organizes a network in Brittany (network Nemrod). From January 6th to 19th 1941, it goes to Paris. On its return it is betrayed by Marty which is in fact an agent of the German against-espionage of the name of Geissler. The whole of the network, on the whole twenty-six people, is made prisoner. May 23rd, the martial Court condemns it to dead as eight of his/her comrades who are transferred to Fresnes. Demands for grace are formulated by Vichy, but the attack of the August 21st 1941 against a German officer with the subway Barbès ruin these hopes. It is carried out on August 29th, 1941 with the Mont Valérien, in company of Maurice Barlier, second lieutenant of FFL, and Jan Doornik, Dutch officer.
It left a newspaper and letters to its family.

- Its name was given to a Parisian place, the crossroads located in front of the church of the Trinity. It is rather curious to note that the plates mentioning this place overflow largely on the adjacent streets (street of Clichy, street Blanche), as if a lack of visibility were feared, which causes mistakes and confusions. Its name consequently was coupled with that of the Parisian subway station corresponding: Trinity, like with the carpark for cars bordering, where a commemorative marble plate is dedicated to him. One of the principal colleges of Nice bears its name.

- Its name is also given to a Course in Marseilles. Course H. of Estienne d' Orves, plazza with Italian, pedestrian, place of the old arsenal of the royal galères.
