Honore-Armand de Villars

Honore-Armand, duke of Villars , duke, prince of Martigues, born with Paris in 1702 and died in Aix in 1770, was member of the French Academy and Pair of France. It accepted the friendly nickname of “ of the Man ” because of his manners. He was the son of Claude Louis Hector, duke of Villars and grandson of Pierre de Villars. He was general governor of the countries and county of Provence.
