Honorat de Porchères Laugier

Honorat de Porchères Laugier (1562 close to Forcalquier - October 26th 1653) is a French poet.

Author of gallant poetries, it is judged worthy to take share with the first French Academy on December 4th, 1634, of which it is one of the founder member and of which he will make several speeches. However, Cardinal Richelieu, guard of the Academy, is not satisfied with this election and the vote will be done always thereafter with secret bulletin, the applicant having to obtain the agreement of the guard as a preliminary.

Honorat de Porchères Laugier is known especially for its Poésies its Hundred love letters written of Érandre with Cléanthe , published in 1664.
