Honest New World (roleplay)

Leading history

The basic book of Brave New World appears in 1999 in English. It is published by Pinnacle Entertainment, then taken again by Alderac Entertainment Group starting from the third supplement. No supplement appears after 2001. Brave New World does not know any official translation in another language but English.

Universe

The history of Brave New World is identical to the history of our Ground until 1917, when a dying soldier realizes that it has the capacity to become incorporeal. The first supermen and super-malicious appear as from this moment. In the interval wars, the supermen fight the crime and themalicious ones. The scientists give them the name of deltas, the Greek letter which represents a change.

During the Second world war, the supermen fight at the sides of the human ones. In 1943, a minor superman tortured in a Concentration camp Nazi undergoes one second transformation and becomes immensely more powerful than front. He takes the name of Superior and, in one day, will kill Adolf Hitler and will force the Japan with rendering.

Superior is the first alpha , a type of superman much more powerful than a delta. The Cold war between the United States and the USSR starts as of the end of the war, but the arms race relates more to obtaining of alphas by each camp than on the atomic weapons.

The main thing not of divergence compared to our world is the November 11th, 1963, when several super-malicious attacks the limousine of president Kennedy to Dallas. Superior saves the president, who at once made pass a law called the Delta Act Registration, which forces the deltas to record their capacities as soon as they appear. Moreover, the civic rights of the deltas are extremely cut down; they can be requisitioned if need be. An government agency, delta precede, is created to fight the deltas outlaw. After a bloody battle with New York between the delta precedes and Devastator, the super-malicious person in charge of the attack against Kennedy, the president is established Life president, founds the martial Loi and establishes a true dictatorship. A movement of rebellion of deltas, the distrust , is born.

In 1976, Devastator makes burst a mysterious bomb in top of the Sears Tower of Chicago, in the middle of a combat against Superior. Suddenly, all that is with less than 25 km of the explosion disappears, and all the alphas of planet disappear too. On the edges of the crater thus formed Crescent City is built, the city where are the HQ of the delta precedes but also distrust.

The disappearance of Superior as a threat for the rebellious deltas starts a series of events violent ones caused by the distrust and various super-malicious. The Warsaw Pact and the USSR do not crumble at the end of the years 1980. In the place, the nuclear reactor of Tchernobyl is sabotaged by American deltas in 1989, starting a short exchange of atomic missiles: Atlanta, San Francisco, Kiev and Minsk is shaven.

The play proposes to incarnate deltas: mainly rebels of the distrust, but it is also possible to play of the delta premiums. The play not being Manichean, the two sides have their goods and their bad elements.

System of play

The system is adapted of that of the play Deadlands, but the charts of poker are replaced there by dice with six faces. The actions are solved while launching several dice with six face and by noting the most score obtained; this score must exceed the difficulty of the action. The jets of dice are unbounded: each 6 obtained is started again, the new result being added on the whole.

The character-players are created starting from packages of done everything capacities.
