Homosérine lactone
The Homosérine Lactone S are chemical compounds which, in acylée form , are implied in the Quorum sensing at the Bactérie S. Différentes forms from acyl homosérine lactones are used by various bacterial species to communicate between them and to detect the presence of a critical concentration of bacteria, starting a collective answer: Bioluminescence, formation of Biofilm.
The homosérine lactone is also the product of the reaction of bromide of Cyanogène (CNBr) with a residue Méthionine within a Protéine. It is an important reaction in the Séquençage of the proteins, which makes it possible to selectively cleave proteins on the level of methionines.
