In Philosophy, the concept dHomo faber refers to the Homme as being likely to manufacture Outil S.

This concept is in particular approached by Henri Bergson, philosopher French evolutionist: “Ultimately, the intelligence, under consideration in what appears about it to be the original step, is faculty to manufacture the artificial objects, in particular tools to make tools, and to vary manufacture indefinitely from it”.

Benjamin Franklin also stated that “the man is an animal forger of tools” (has toolmaking animal).

What makes it possible to distinguish the Man, named Homo sapiens in biology, of the remainder of the animal kingdom is not undoubtedly precisely of a biological nature. To laugh, Conscience, language, Culture? … Finally, one in general evokes an element which would be due to its intellect: Homo sapiens proclamation its wisdom, its intelligence insofar as it is able to modify the world which surrounds it. For that, it handles the tool and transforms its environment, its thought and of its hand works it.

Also, the term of Homo Faber is used in the schools of the Program of International studies. It refers to a surface of interaction which the pupils employ in their work, projects, etc One calls upon knowledge of the students, one leaves the origin, the process, the product, the context, the impact, the development of creation, in fact one reflects by posing a critical glance.
