Homéoboîte and homéodomaine
A homéoboîte (also called homeobox ) is a section of DNA which one finds in the Gène S implied in the control of the development (Morphogenèse) of the animals, mushrooms and the plants.
A homéoboîte is made up from approximately 180 even bases coding 60 amino-acids forming a proteinic field, the homéodomaine , which is able to bind to the DNA. The homéodomaine comprises a reason for propeller-buckle-propeller type, whose specificity of connection to the DNA is determined by the ends.
A gene with a homéoboîte code a Protein which is a Facteur of transcription intended to activate in cascade of other genes. It is the case, for example of all genes necessary for the identity and the development of a segment in the drosophila.
