Holy-dove (Hautes-Alpes)

Holy-Dove is a common French located in the department of the Hautes-Alpes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure.

Geography

The village is located at the south-west of the department of the Hautes-Alpes at the border of the Drome. Belonging to the canton of Orpierre, it is divided into several hamlets, such as the Stammerers. It is crossed by the torrent of Céans which, after having irrigated the plain of Orpierre, is thrown in Büech with Eyguians.

History

The first traces of the human presence in valley of Céans go back 6.500 or 600 years. Prehistoric discoveries of objects took place in about in each commune of the valley.
