Holy-Rosalie

Holy-Rosalie is small a Ville which was annexed to the town of Saint-Hyacinthe in 2003. One reaches it by exit 138 of the Autoroute 20 or by the roads 116 and roads 224, which cross its territory.

The municipality is named in the honor of Marie-Rosalie Papineau Dessaulles (1788-1857). Marie-Rosalie is the girl junior by the notary and land-surveyor Joseph Papineau. Born in 1788, she marries Jean Dessaulles in May 1816.

However, the church and the Holy-Rosalie parish are named in the honor of Rosalie of Palermo, a virgin devoted to Jesus-Eucharistie.
