Holy-Mesme

Holy-Mesme is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Saintmesmois .

Geography

The communes bordering are Dourdan and Corbreuse (the Essonne) with the east, Saint-Arnoult-in-Yvelines and Ponthévrard in the North-West, Saint-Martin-with-Bréthencourt in south-west.

History

Personalities having lived with Holy-Mesme

Charles-François Lebrun (1739 - 1824), third consul and Prince-architrésorier of the First Empire. It is deceased there in its castle, on June 14th, 1824.
Louis Bernard Francq (baron) (1766 - 1818), captain of the Hunters with horse of the imperial Guard with Austerlitz; colonel of the 10th regiment of cuirassiers in 1809.
Auguste Maquet, writer, is deceased there the January 8th 1888 in his castle of Holy-Mesme.
