History
It is with the Middle Ages that was born Sainte Eulalie d' Olt. The raised ramparts of turns which shelter it are worth then in this small city the name of Castrum. In spite of many changes during the centuries, its borough, organized in arcs of successive circles around its central place, enabled him to preserve its authenticity. Formerly, these houses with the roofs of roofing stone, built on two or three stages, covered with rough coat, hid a formidable treasure. Indeed, those were built out of rollers of the Batch with or without half-timbering (wood). By love and passion of their village, Encaulats (name given the inhabitants of Holy Eulalie d' Olt which means “cabbage eaters”) started to restore their masonries, making reappear frontages with half-timbering.
To still embellish the borough, every year, they flower the houses. Sainte Eulalie d' Olt was several times preceded in its category with the contest of the “Cities and Villages Flowered” and this, since 1986. It is while sauntering in the streets and narrow and sinuous lanes, sometimes still paved out of rollers of the Batch, which you will discover the heart of the village…
