The old name of Holy-Eugenie-of-Villeneuve was Villeneuve de Fix , which would indicate that this small commune was born from an extension (certainly a Essart) of Fix-Saint-Geneys. The commune is located on the old road connecting Brioude to the Puy in Velay and sheltered formerly a relay of Poste.
