Holy-Adele

Holy-Adele is a city in the regional Municipalité of county of the Country-of in-High with the Quebec (Canada), located in the administrative area of the Laurentides. It is named in the honor of Adèle de Pfalzel.

Regional

Co.-Adele contains 3 mountains of ski: ski chantecler, slopes 40-80 and mount gabriel.

The city has also much restaurant of which the St-Hubert, nickel' S and spago. Much restaurant its located on the street morin (of the beginning at the end of the coast).

Co.-Adele contains also a cinema located on the street morin (with the bottom of the coast).

The city has also 4 clubs of golf: The club of golf Chantecler, the club of golf the Valley, the club of golf Gabriel Mount and the club of golf Alpine.

Co.-Adele contains 3 elementary schools: the school St-Joseph (sector St-Adele), the school sing-with-winds (Mount-Roland sector) and the English school (sector Co.-Adele). There is a secondary school (A.N. - Morin) which today contains approximately 1200 pupils who come mainly from the following cities: Co.-Adele, St-Saver, Morin-Heights, Piedmonts, Co.-Marguerite and Co.-Anne-of-Lakes.

In short, Co.-Adele is a beautiful small town which is ideal for people who want to move away from the city for some days.

History

The area was founded by Augustin-Norbert Morin and it left its name to several places and institutions of the area, such as Valley-Morin, Morin-Heights, secondary school has. - NR. Morin, the Morin park, the street Morin, etc Fondé in 1855, Co.-Adele was amalgamated with Mount-Roland in 1997.

  • 1842: Augustin-Norbert Morin buys grounds in the area of Holy-Adele whose name does not exist yet
  • 1855: Foundation of Holy-Adele. The 1st mayor: Isidore Legaut, manufacturer of the church
  • 1862: Holy-Agathe separates from Co.-Adele, by decision of the bishop Le Bourget
  • 1878: The doctor Wilfid Oil cake , father of Claude-Henri, arrives at Holy-Adele. He will be mayor for 2 mandates, of 1886 to 1892, then of 1898 to 1904
  • 1891: Arrival of the first Holy-Adele train (large tanks)
  • 1902: A French of the name of Jean-Baptiste Roland decides to install a packing paper factory there: the Roland
  • 1918: The municipality of the village of Mount-Roland is created
  • 1922: Valley-Morin obtains its autonomy because of a baffle for the site of a bridge which crosses the river of North to Valley-David. Holy-Adele is divided into two municipalities: Parish and Village
  • 1933: Claude-Henri Grignon finishes the writing dUn man and its sin
  • 1948: The administrators of Chantecler request from the Ministry for municipal Businesses the right to create off the “ Village Chantecler' ”.
  • 1954: The Mount-Gabriel becomes a municipality of 9 inhabitants
  • 1957: The Holy-Adele Lodge , very attended by the soldiers during the war for his cabaret, becomes the hotel Montclair
  • 1964: The Parish swallows the Village. This fusion is very strongly encouraged by Quebec. Holy-Adele becomes a city
  • 1967: The Newspaper of Country-of in-High is been based by Maurice Aveline
  • 1968: Annexation of the Blue Summit (Mount-Roland) by Holy-Adele
  • 1981: Mount-Roland absorbs the Mount-Gabriel: finished the private club by order of Quebec
  • 1991: Demolition of the railway. The linear park the P' tit train of North was born for the greatest joy from the cyclists and cross-country skiers
  • 1997: Fusion of Holy-Adele and Mount-Roland which recreates almost the administrative entity of the beginning of the last century
