Holabird and Root
in Holabird and Root (or in Holabird and Rock ) is a cabinet of Architecte S American founded in 1880 with Chicago.
The cabinet, initially founded by William Holabird and Ossian Simonds in 1880, is named initially “in Holabird and Simonds” before taking the name of “in Holabird and Roche” in 1883.
The company takes importance under the direction of William Holabird and Martin Roche, which initially worked for William the Baron Jenney before founding their own firm. in Holabird and Roche becomes known at the end of the 19th century in particular for its Gratte-ciel S in the style of the school of Chicago and for its Hôtel S with the sumptuous Décoration, like in [[Micrometer caliper House]] of Chicago.
In 1927, after the death of the two founders, the cabinet takes the name of “in Holabird and Root” following a partnership between John Augur Holabird (wire of Willam Holabird) and John Wellborn Root, Jr. (wire of John Wellborn Root).
With the passing of years the architectural style of the cabinet evolved/moved, passing from the school of Chicago, with the Art déco then with the écoconstruction.
