Hojancha (canton)
Hojancha is a canton of the Costa Rica, located in the province of Guanacaste. It is the most recent canton of the province, as well as smallest in surface. It is close to the cantons of Nicoya and Nandayure, and it has a small maritime frontage with Puerto Carrillo. Its capital is Hojancha.
The most recent guanacastèque canton was founded the November 2nd 1971. Since this date, etjusqu' at August 1999, Hojancha consisted of a single district. Today it is account four (see below). Its governor is Juan Rafael Marín Quirós.
Demography
The population was of 6534 inhabitants, according to the census of 2000 (of which 25% lived in urban area in the district of Hojancha).
