Hohenheim
Hohenheim the Luminous is the father of Edward and Alphonse Elric in the adaptation animates manga Fullmetal alchemist . It is itself a famous alchemist.
- In animates Hohenheim left his wife (Trisha) and its two sons Edward and Alphonse because he wanted to hide the decomposition of his body to his wife.
At the oddment, Hohenheim the Luminous one finds on the other side of the " carry alchimie" with his/her son. This new world in which they are, is not other than ours at the beginning of the 20th century, during the Entre-deux-guerres. A few years later, in Munich, he collaborates with the members of the Société of Thule to find a means of returning Edward in the world of alchemy and he is also the originator of his machine parts substitutes the Automails of Winry. His/her collaborators end however up discovering his true nature and maintain it prisoner to contain the coldly captured dragon; this dragon not being other than Envy transformed at the time of its passage of the Door. At the time when, in Armestris, Alphonse opens the door by using Wrath and Gluttony, he dies crushed in the jaw of Envy thus causing the complete opening of the Door of this dimension.
-
In the manga, Hohenheim is rather similar to its equivalent of the animated version, flanor and head in the air. Nothing is known as on its immortality but it is however able to resist bullets. Besides it is defined itself as a monster.
To note that which directs the Homonculus seems to be a double of the father of the Elric brothers. The bond linking these two people does not have, for the moment, not revealed yet.
(in fact, as volume 13 shows it, Hohenheim seems well to be that which created Homonculus. The resemblance is thus more than one coincidence?! however one discovers in the volume 14 that Hohenheim has a kind of twin or clone which entirely resembles to him but it is not known that it bond they have in common because they know each other)
Attention what follows reveals the continuation of the manga.
Van Hohenheim is in fact only one of the guinea-pigs of Father. Following the example Barry the butcher, Hohenheim carried a number. He did not even have a name, his number was the 23. He apparently had as Master, Pride alias Selim Bradley.
Rather interesting thing, a character with the extremely young pace, learned alchemy with a character which one awaits answers has his past since the commencement of the series. It is thing made in the final chapter published to date, ED et al. are the wire of a guinea-pig.
Anecdote
It seems that this name comes from the doctor and Swiss alchemist called Paracelse. The resemblance does not stop besides there, since the history of Fullmetal Alchemist proceeds in the Années 1910, Hohenheim is approximately 400 years old, the age which Paracelse on this date would have had. The true name of Paracelse is: Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim, the name which Father wanted to give to the n°23 (the future Van Hohenheim), it shortens the name in Van Hohenheim because it was too long.
