Hofsjökull

Hofsjökull is a Glacier located in the west of the Highlands of Iceland in Iceland. Of a surface of 925 km ², it culminates with 1765 Mr.

One can see the large icecap of the roads Sprengisandur and Kjölur which crosses the Highlands, the desert plates of the interior of Iceland. Under the cap of the glacier is the Caldeira of large a central Volcan, whose existence was discovered only rather late at the 20th century.

The mountain of the Kerlingarfjöll rises in the west of the glacier. The road of Kjölur passes by the valley between him and the Langjökull.
