Hoang Tuy

Hoàng Tụy (born December 17th 1927) is a Vietnamese Mathématicien recognized universally. He is one of the two true Vietnamese fathers of Mathematics, the other is Van Thiem. He passed his thesis to the National university of Moscow. He works in Total Optimization and published approximately 160 articles. He is currently in Institute de Mathématiques, Vietnam or he is director of the 1980 to the 1989. His/her son, Hoang Duong Tuan, are University lecturers in Mathematics at the University of Southern Wales News, Australia. His/her son-in-law, Phan Thien Thach, also work on optimization.

In 1997, a workshop in the honor of Hoang Tuy was organized in Institute de Technologie Linkoping, Sweden.

In December 2007, an International Conference on Programmation Nonconvexe will be organized has Rouen, France in the occasion of sound 80eme birthday, in recognition of its work which has affectue considerably in the field of Total Optimization.
