Hoagland Howard Hoagy Carmichael is a Compositeur, Pianiste, Chanteur and American actor born the November 11th 1899 with Bloomington (Indiana, the United States) and deceased with Palm Springs (California, the United States) the December 26th 1981).

Biography

He learns the piano with his mother and improves in an orchestra of students with Indianapolis. While studying the Right, it becomes acquainted with Bix Beiderbecke with which it becomes friendly, and composes for him “Riverboat Shuffle”, which is recorded in 1924 by the Wolverines. Attending King Oliver, Louis Armstrong and Benny Goodman, it starts to compose.

It recorded “Washboard blues” with Paul Whiteman in 1927, “Rockin' Chair” in 1929 with Louis Armstrong and “Blue blood blues” with King Oliver the same year, then “Rockin' Chair” with Bix Beiderbecke and Bubber Miley in 1930.

It also recorded its works in solo: Georgia one my mind , Lazy to rivet , Star dust , Lazy bones , Judy , Two sleepy people , HongKong blues , The nearness off you , Memphis in June , but, more often, accompanied by average formations, of Chicagoans or westcoasters sometimes.

It is a singer narrator, who seems to tell a history with lightness and humor, parodying the speech of “Deep South”, underlining with a very impressionist lightness the stated melody of an alert tone. In the history of the jazz, it is especially important by the number of topics which it composed and which became standards, still quote Baltimore oriole , Indiana, Daybreak , Everything happens to me , Lazy to rivet , One morning in May , Skylark , The nearness off you , Two sleepy people . Stardust in particular was recorded by more than 800 different formations, and some of these versions are authentic masterpieces (those of Louis Armstrong, of Lionel Hampton, John Coltrane, Benny Goodman, Nat King Cole, inter alia

It appears with the cinema in the Port of the anguish of Howard Hawks in 1944, the Most beautiful Years of our life of William Wyler in 1946, Canyon passage of Jacques Tourneur the same year, the Woman with the dreams of Michael Curtiz in 1949, The Las Vegas story of Robert Stevenson in 1952 and in Timberjack of Joe Kaneen in 1954. II also published two autobiographies: “ The stardust road ” and “ Sometimes I wonder ”.
