Hoëgne

The Hoëgne is a Rivière of Belgium. This river is born in the High Fagnes, more precisely in Fagne of Polleur. Besides it bears the name of Polleur on its first kilometers. It crosses Theux where it receives the Wayai which crosses Spa, to be thrown in the Vesdre with Pepinster.

Pretty walk (1 hour) on the basis of the Bridge of the Centenary with Hockai to the Bridge of Belleheid downstream. The walk was refitted recently and follows the fast course of the river through wood. Another possibility of walk is to leave the Baraque Michel and to join Hoegne by Large Vecquée, to descend the course from the river until Polleur.

The medium flow of the river measured with Pepinster, between 1994 and 2001 is of 6,3 m ³ a second. During the same period one recorded:

  • a maximum average annual flow of 8,1 m ³ in 1998.
  • a minimal average annual flow of 3,9 in 1996.
