History of sciences of the language

The history of sciences of the language goes back to mists of time, since the Human one always exchanged with its similar.

The sciences of the language make, with the mathematical and the astronomy, started from what one can call the cardinal disciplines for humanity. They are indeed the fields of knowledge for which we have the oldest traces, made possible by the invention of the writing, of a considered activity of description and theorization.

In the case of sciences of the language, one can consider that, already in thousand-year-old IIe before J. - C., the unilingual lists in sumérien, the “grammatical” lists used by the Akkadiens and the bilingual lists akkadien-sumérien are the first stage of a lexicographical activity, monolingual then bilingual.
