History of the island St Lucia
- Of the {{mini IIe}} at the 8th century, the island is populated by the Indians Arawak S.
- At the 9th century, arrival of the Caribes Indians.
- Christophe Colomb discovers the island in 1502 at the time of its fourth voyage.
- In 1605, beginning of colonization after many conflicts with the Caribes Indians.
- Of the 17th century at the beginning of the 19th century, the France fights with the England (then with the Great Britain and finally with the the United Kingdom) for the possession of St Lucia which exchange 14 times of hands.
- In 1814, the island becomes definitively British.
- St Lucia becomes a State associated with the the Commonwealth in 1967.
- In 1979, St Lucia acquires its independence.
