History of Spanish animation
The history of the Spanish animation really started with many small films carried out between 1908 and 1916 by the pioneer Aragonese Segundo de Chomón, large specialist in fakings and the puppets - that one often brings closer to his contemporary Georges Méliès - and who, in fact, shared his time between the France and the Spain.
However the first Spanish feature-length film of animation, Garbancito of Mancha , is produced only in 1945 by Arturo Moreno, which will take an action pursuant in 1948 to him with Alegres vacaciones . Their producer, Jose María Blay, will make a third attempt (unhappy) with Los Sueños of Tay-pi , a film now disappeared.
