History of Brooklyn Dodgers
The Brooklyn Dodgers are a frankness from Baseball of the major Ligue of baseball created in 1883 with Brooklyn. She moves in California during the winter 1957 - 58.
The beginnings (1883-1888)
Founded in 1883 as a team of a minor league under the name of Brooklyn baseball club , the frankness was allowed in the American Ligue (first version) in 1884 and 1890 in the National league, league of which it always forms part. The club absorbs several local clubs between 1888 and 1891 to ensure its dominant position Brooklyn. The frankness is called by the press Brooklyn Bridegrooms since 1888.
The first titles (1889-1897)
The frankness is renamed Brooklyn Superbas in 1899 in reference in the name of its manager, Hanlon Superbras. The nonofficial nickname of Trolley Dodgers also appears to him during the Années 1890 (1895). It pays homage to the pedestrians who waver between the trams to reach at the stage. In 1889, Brooklyn becomes champion of the American League before choosing the National league in 1890. At the time of their first season in this league, Brooklyn removes the title becomes thus one of the very rare formations to have to gain two titles two years of continuation in two different leagues. Brooklyn leaves Washington Park then to play Eastern Park, enclosure of 12.000 places, where 17.892 paying spectators attended the opening of the season 1891. After this departure in brass band, the results are less brilliant.
The presidency Ebbets (1898-1925)
January 1st 1898, the town of Brooklyn loses its autonomy and is attached to New York. This particularly important year for the history of Brroklyn is also remembered by deep changes at Dodgers. Charles Ebbets becomes about it the president and the frankness finds its ground of Washington Park with a stage renovated. As of the inauguration of the stage the April 30th 1898, the international topicality weighs on the spirits. The Guerre Spanish-American which began five days earlier caused patriotic demonstrations with songs and flags in Washington Park. Baseball was not any more the priority, and the multitude fell dramatically throughout the season. Only 122.514 spectators were entered in Washington Park for the unit of the season 1898.Charles Ebbets which managa the team in 1898 recruits Ned Hanlon to carry out this spot starting from 1899. This transfer of the manager high-speed motorboat of the Baltimore Orioles is accompanied by the arrival of several players of the frankness from Baltimore. Winner of the title in 1894, 1895 and 1896, the frankness lost from now on money and its president, Harry Vanderhorst, sought to restore balance. Hanlon became in same time chair of Baltimore Orioles, and occupied the two stations consequently: to manage of Brooklyn Dodgers and president of Baltimore Orioles. It had even received actions of Dodgers, becoming thus one of the principal minority shareholders of the frankness from Brooklyn. In spite of the complex character of this assembly, Brooklyn takes down two new titles of the National league in 1899 and 1900.
As of 1902, Hanlon Superbras works on a transfer of the frankness to Baltimore. Charles Ebbets manages to block this removal, and finances in particular the erection of a new stage, Ebbets Field, which is inaugurated in 1913. This stage will be the cave of Dodgers until in 1957. President Ebbets witnesses to with it two profits of championships of the National league in 1916 and 1920.
The frankness adopts officially the name of Brooklyn Dodgers (1910) before taking that of Brooklyn Robins between 1914 and 1931. During this period, however, the nickname of Trolley Dodgers remained current. It is necessary to await 1932 to see the frankness finding its name of Brooklyn Dodgers.

The helmets of beater are also introduced in major league with Ebbets Field (1941). This same season 1941, Brooklyn gains its only flag of the National league during this twenty years period. Dodgers then have the reputation of an average and malchanceuse team having impassioned supporters and very patients.
Jackie Robinson (1947-1956)
The April 15th 1947, Jackie Robinson played its first match in the major leagues under the colors of Dodgers. He became thus the first black player to evolve/move in a professional league of baseball since 1887 and prohibition to recruit black players. The Afro-Americans were confined with the Negro League S, of the organizations reserved to the colored persons. The manager of Dodgers was first has to dare to break this taboo, and recruited Robinson.Champion of the National league in 1947, 1949, 1952 and 1953, Dodgers still do not arrive has to gain the World Series. “It will be for the next year! ” ( Wait' til next year! ) then becomes the slogan of the supporters of Brooklyn. Brooklyn is still champion of the national league in 1956.
Dodgers moves West (1957-1958)
And sudden, it is the cold shower for the fans of Dodgers. The frankness moves in Los Angeles for the season 1958. This removal was a true traumatism for the partisans of Dodgers, and more generally for all the Americans. Walter O' Malley was owner of the frankness since 1950, and California proposed a gold bridge, installations of dream and a considerable virgin market to him. O' Malley did not resist it, and in spite of the riots which caused this business in the suburbs of New York and the desperate proposals of the municipality to preserve its Dodgers, Brooklyn was striped of a stroke of the pen of the geography of the major leagues. The last match of Dodgers with Ebbets Field was held the September 24th 1957.Jackie Robinson did not form part of the removal in California. It put a term at its career the previous winter. The April 18th 1958, Dodgers carried out their first exit with Los Angles in front of 78.672 spectators with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
