Historical and archaeological company of the Flowering ash
The historical and archaeological Société of the Flowering ash was founded in 1882, in the line of Arcisse de Caumont, founder of the Société of the antique dealers of Normandy and the Association Norman .
This company is created on the proposal of Gustave Levavasseur in 1879, at the time of a meeting of the Commission of the Art schools chaired by the marquis de Chennevières Alençon.
Leon of Sicotière is the first president of the S.H.A.O whose statutes are deposited on February 28th, 1882 with the prefecture of the Orne.
After Leon of Sicotière, chair 1882 1889, the successive presidents of the S.H.A.O were Gustave Vavasseur, of 1889 with 1895, the count G. of Contades, 1895 with 1899, Henri Tournouër, of 1899 with 1943, the count de Frileuze, of 1944 with 1947, the count Of Mesnil Of the Bush, 1947 with 1955, Jean Adigard of Gautries, 1956 with 1961 and the canon Pierre Flament, since 1961.
