Cierp-Gaud is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.
Its inhabitants is called Cierpois-Gaudois.

Geography
Located at the foot of the the Pyrenees on the Spade to 35 km in the south of Saint-Gaudens and with 15km of the Spain in the Top Comminges.
History
Approximately 3000 years before JC, under the push of new populations come from North East of the Europe which occupied under Pyrénéens plates, our mountains probably servient of refuge to populations which settled with side of Montagne, on the Soulasse S (terraces refrigerators), thus avoiding the funds of valleys Marécage ux.

Towards 125 before JC the Romans subject the Commingeoises mountains and in 75 before JC attaches Gautes or Guitos, people of the Confluent Pique the Garonne, with the convennes people of the Comminges born from success from pumped on Sertorius which after having subdued the revolt of the Celtibères makes our area a vast prison camp. Convenae (from where the name of Comminges).
In 52 before JC Gautes will remain insensitive with the cause of Pompée and the call of Vercingétorix. With the VIe century the Vascons settle in ours valley then the Francs (it is said that Dagobert itself would have come to press the ground of the confluence). Then our valley knew in its turn the raids of the Sarrazins.
In 1156 the templiers settle in Cierp and in other villages of the area from where they radiated to keep the passages of the mountain and to defend the travellers.
During the Guerre One hundred Year old our country of the confluence is occupied by collaborators of the English.
In 1591, at the time of the wars of religion Cierp-Gaud and its Castle lived dramatic moments.
In 1702 whereas the War of succession of Spain is held in the plains of Catalogne and of Aragon of the preparations for the attack of the Vénasque and the Val of Aran are started. The Sentier which connects Montréjeau to Luchon is improved and the regular troops install a deposit with Cierp.
Towards 1715, at the time of War of the Quadruple Alliance, 3 Battalion S of Picardy and Suisse S installs their general headquarter with Cierp
Between 1830 and 1841, the weak ground allowing only Harvest S, many inhabitants emigrate towards Toulouse, Bordeaux, Paris, the Algérie and the America and others launch out in the Colportage.
