Historia de Asia
The Taido ( 躰道 /taidō) is a Japanese Martial art created in 1965 by Seiken Shukumine, also founder of the Karaté Gensei-Ryu in 1953. Created on the basis of style of karate of Okinawa in which Seiken Shukumine is originating, this martial art uses the techniques of traditional karate, mainly of the techniques of striking (feet/fists), scissors and more rarely of the techniques of key and projection, by combining them with displacements at the same time in stature upright, but also of the movements in space using all body (rotations, falls, jumps, saltos, etc). The goal is to use all the capacities of the body, to avoid, divert or turn over against him the attack of the adversary, and to use the energy of the movement to accelerate and give more effectiveness to the techniques.
The competition exists and includes/understands 3 categories:
- Jissen (combat) which is held without category of weight. Strike with the head and with the legs are prohibited, but sweepings and scissors are authorized. The direct techniques, i.e. carried out without use of displacement are not entered.
- imaginary Hokei combat codified against one or more adversaries. It is the equivalent of Kata in Karate. The creation of novel methods according to certain rules and starting from the basic model is authorized and even encouraged, if their effectiveness and their utility are recognized.
- Tenkai which is a demonstration (prepared in advance) of combat with against five, over one 30 seconds duration. Here effectiveness, the complexity and the rigor of the techniques, realism and unfolding without time-death of the combat, as well as the spectacular aspect is essential.
The taido currently exists in ten country of which: the Japan, the the United States, the Australia, the England, the France, the Portugal, the Sweden, the Finland, the Holland, the Denmark and the Norway.
There exists another Japanese Martial art homonymous, the Taido ( 太道 /taidō). This last remainder only applied to the Japan.
