20th Century Boys ( 20 世紀少年 , nijuu seiki shōnen ) is a Seinen Manga of Naoki Urasawa. In Japan, 22 volumes are appeared (22 volumes are available in France, with the editions Génération Comics). The prepublication of the series stopped at the end of the month of April 2006 for unknown reasons (a report of the NHK on the career of the author mentioned however health issues following the rate/rhythm imposed by the weekly publication). The prepublication took again on December 25th, 2006 in the magazine Big Comic Spirits for a last arc being entitled 21st Century Boys and finished on July 14th, 2007.
Complete summary
; 1969: A group of children is found regularly in a bases secret ; under the impulse of Kenji Endô , the children invent a history of Science-fiction telling the destruction of humanity by a malefic organization to which they were opposed to end up becoming the savers of the world. They consign this history in a Cahier of Predictions .; 1997: After the suicide of Donkey , one of the children of the group, Kenji, become since manager of a convini, are found implied in spite of him in the dark intentions of a apocalyptic Secte directed by some Ami , which realizes with predictions that him and the other children had imagined.
Who is Ami? Probably a former friend of Kenji, but which? Will Kenji manage to prevent the end of the world that they had announced in their book for on December 31st, 2000 (fine of the 20th century) at midnight?

Anecdotes
- 20th Century Boys is also a song of T-Rex, an rock group of the Années 1960 (the rock'n'roll is an important topic in the series).
- the Narration is done mainly by flashback S between various times (1969, 1997, 2000, 2014, 2017, etc).
- the first building destroyed by the robot of the year 2000 is that of Shogakukan, the Japanese editor of the manga.
- At the time of a scene of shoplifting in a convini one can see manga of Yawara and Pinneapple army two other series of Naoki Urasawa
- the masks carried by certain enigmatic characters of the series are those of Hattori-kun the ninja and of National kid

The first volume connected of 21st century Boys (volume ue, including/understanding the first 8 chapters) left at the end of May to Japan.
