YouthHabré was born in 1942 with the Chad. It is originating in the ethnos group Gorane or Toubou. It belongs to the Anakaza clan. He was member of the national Armed forces of Chad (FANT), now disappeared under this name.

War against LibyaHissène Habré, chief of the Armed forces of North (FAN) reversed Goukouni Oueddeï the June 7th 1982 to occupy the position of president. The post of Prime Minister was removed and several political opponents were carried out. Habré transformed the FAN into regular army (FANT), then created an political police, the Management of documentation and safety (DDS).
