In 1963 under the impulse of the mayor of Bellevaux of the time, Armand Félisaz, 37 inhabitants of the commune (craftsmen and farmer) link their efforst and their economies (each one brought 50.000 F of the time) to found SESAT (company of sports equipment and installation of the ski-lift). They choose the mountain pasture of Hirmentaz for the facility of sound accesibilité.
For the installation of the first ski-lift, that of Plagne, the associates ensure themselves the work of civil engineering. But, lack of chance, snow is not with go and the inauguration is done on grass!
During 10 years, approximately 1 ski-lift per annum is inaugurated. In the Years 1970, it was a question of a connection per chair-lift (2800m) between the Chef-lieu and Hirmentaz. But the project forever considering the day.
