Hippolyte de Béthune (1643-1720)

Born in 1643, wire of Hippolyte, count de Selles then of Béthune and Anne-Marie de Beauvillers.
He was abbot of Bowsprit, diocese of Toul in 1666, then chaplain of the queen in 1670, and finally named by the king bishop of Verdun in 1680.
The seminar of its diocese was directed a long time by a clerk Jansenist, Louis Habert and in 1718, Hippolyte de Béthune took makes and causes against the Bulle Unigenitus.
He died on August 28th 1720.
